.tech TLD audit hub
Generic gTLD for technology brands, education and startup launches.
The .tech TLD is operated by Radix and launched in the 2015 wave of new gTLDs. Adoption clustered around three audiences: tech conferences and events looking for a memorable URL, hardware and IoT brands that wanted a category-descriptive domain, and education programs (bootcamps, university CS departments) where the suffix mirrored the curriculum. Pricing is mid-tier, and registrar availability is good. The TLD treats DNSSEC, WHOIS privacy and transfer locking on par with established gTLDs. SEO consensus has consistently been that gTLD choice has minimal direct ranking impact compared with content, links and Core Web Vitals, but click-through-rate studies show that a strong category match in the TLD can lift CTR slightly when the surrounding result snippet is otherwise neutral. Email deliverability on .tech is broadly fine; some older corporate spam filters with legacy block-lists may treat the entire 2015 new-gTLD cohort as slightly higher-risk by default, so DMARC alignment and warming a fresh sending domain matter more here than on .com.
