.no TLD audit hub
Norway ccTLD — administered by Norid with strict Norwegian-presence requirements.
The .no TLD is administered by Norid, run from NTNU in Trondheim, and has rigorous registration requirements: .no is restricted to Norwegian-registered entities and Norwegian-resident individuals, with a per-registrant cap on the number of domains. There are sub-zones (idrett.no for sport, and county-prefixed zones) with even tighter eligibility. As a result, .no has only around 800,000 active registrations — far fewer than peer Nordic ccTLDs — but registrant data quality is exceptionally high. DNSSEC adoption is widespread. SEO treats .no as a strong Norway-bound geotargeting signal and Norwegian-language search performance benefits accordingly. Norwegian commercial sites operate under EEA-aligned privacy law and the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) is an active enforcer. Email deliverability is on parity with major gTLDs; major Norwegian ISPs (Telenor, Telia) participate in the standard reputation ecosystem.
